Suggee Resort :The Home of Friends in Pursuit of Fun, Adventure, and Relaxation
The Plan: A Much-Needed Holiday
It began on a lazy Saturday afternoon. My phone rang while one of my friends called from our group chat—"Guys, we need a break! Let's go for a trip!
Then came a vociferous but useless argument regarding where to go. Beaches? Too distant. Hill stations? Too full of tourists. And then someone bright suggested Suggee Resort —a wonderful mix of adventure, leisure, and fun, and a few hours' drive from Bangalore. In a couple of minutes, we'd packed our bags into the car and were racing off, looking forward to spending a day that every one of us would cherish forever.
Arrival: The Adventure Begins
We stepped into Suggee Resort, and we welcomed the greens, other travelers' laughter in the background, and a splash of fresh air. Smiles welcomed us, and we received a list of things to do. Eyes shining, we beheld adventure sports, games, a swimming pool, and a rain dance field as well. This was going to rock!
Kickstarting the Fun: Outdoor and Indoor Games
We began with a light-hearted but fiercely competitive game of cricket. The sun was shining in our favour as we bowled, batted, and cheered each other on, a reminder of the good old days of gully cricket in childhood. We later played badminton, exhibiting our steps (or crashing and burning in the process!).
Longing to escape the sun, we went in for a game of carrom, chess, and table tennis. The room was abuzz with laughter as we improvised rules and made a simple game of carrom a game of wits. We took turns at the game of chess, playing like experts and outwitting one another, though the real test was maintaining a straight face every time someone erred.
Thrill-Seeking: The Adventure Starts!
Last but not least, the time had finally come to tap into our daredevil spirits. Archery first—none of us had ever even had a bow and arrow in our hands, but something was exhilarating about the test. Some of us were like seasoned veterans natural marksmen, while some of us could barely hit the nearest target, giving us some side-splitting moments. Having each other consistently miss the mark kept us giggling.
Then we took off to the zipline. The initial launching of one of us off at the start left the rest of us dangling at the launch pad, pounding our hearts against our chests as the brave one swooshed over us. Then it was our turn. Flying along treetop levels, wind whipping through our ears, we were flying—ecstasy. Having each other's faces smiling in sheer bliss was worth its weight in gold.
After the zipline, we went on to sky cycling. Imagine pedaling in the air, way above ground level. The experience was a dream come true, and we pedaled with all our strength, thumping hearts, as we felt the rush of adrenaline. The view was stunning, and the sense of freedom was unmatched.
Of course, we hadn't had enough adventure. We moved on to air surfing, attempting to balance in the strong gusts. At first, we fell over and rolled down, but before long we were both competing with each other, attempting to outdo the other with our best (and worst) tricks.
The highlight of the day's laugh? Zorbing! We got inside massive transparent spheres and rolled down grassy hills, laughing hysterically as the ball bounced and swirled. It felt like being in a giant happiness bubble—no fear, only joy. Our heads spun with the rolling, but we just couldn't help ourselves and stopped laughing.
Cooling Off: Pool Time and Rain Dance
After all that adrenaline, something was needed to slow us down. We went to the swimming pool, where we played in the water, had a game of water, and soaked up the sun's heat on a floatie. The chilly water was a relief from all the action, and we relished every minute.
But just as we were unwinding, the rain dance corner went crazy. We heard the music first—the beat dropped, and the vibe of the crowd exploded. We couldn't help but join in. As pretend rain poured on us, we danced like no one was looking. There is something enchanting about dancing in the rain, with friends, and with music thumping in the background. We lost ourselves, laughing and having fun to the max.
Feasting Like Kings
Spirits high, it was now time for the highlight of the day: food. The resort had a sumptuous spread of local and international cuisine in its buffet. The steaming hot food filled the air with its aroma, and we devoured it with relish. With mouthfuls of kebabs and spicy biryanis, we talked, giggled over the day's adventures, and planned for the evening.
For others who wanted something more, the resort had also arranged a candlelight dinner. There were some couples sitting at their tables, enjoying the warm ambiance in the light of lights twinkling, and having their dinner by the pool.
A Peaceful Farewell Under the Mango Tree
As the sun went down, we sat to reflect. We sat under the resort's ancient mango tree, its massive branches casting shade from the sun's heat in a cool, shaded area where we could just sit. We thought about the day's best moments—how we had pushed ourselves beyond our comfort zones, how we had laughed until our bellies ached, and how we had made memories that would last forever.
We all concurred that this outing was exactly what we had all been yearning for—relief from our busy lives and time spent reconnecting with each other. The resort had given us not only thrills, but peace, and the sheer joy of being with one another.
The Ride Home: A Day to Remember
As we packed and returned home, none of us could help but look back at the day's moments of glory. While some were already thinking about the next trip, others were just soaking in the peace that followed an otherwise chaotic day. Suggee Resort had given us much more than a destination to visit—it had given us a day to cherish.
